Special Projects
The Thuci-Hydro power generation project, under construction, will power three Embu County tea factories: Rukuriri, Mungania, and Kathangariri. Once operational, these factories will be fully self-sufficient in power and sell excess energy to the national grid.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Rukuriri has a significant tree planting initiative, with 228 acres of land and 151,035 eucalyptus trees planted. The factory’s tree nursery produces 70,000 seedlings annually (including eucalyptus, gravillea, and indigenous species), offered at subsidized prices and distributed freely to schools and institutions within Embu County.
